Orsola de Castro
‘A Fashion Revolution’
28 th February 2017
The first of our Salon Series will be led by ethical fashion designer Orsola de Castro, founder of Fashion Revolution, a non-profit charity raising awareness of the true cost of fashion.
Orsola will be leading a discussion on the impact of the fashion industry on the world and the similarities between food and fashion with how both industries are evolving and what people can do to promote and engage in local and less intensive habits of consumerism, including the recent popularity in upcycling fashion. Joining Orsola are a group of women leading the ethical fashion revolution including, author and Telegraph columnist Tamsin Blanchard, Mario Nishio, Senior Lecturer at Central Saint Martins and the fashion designer, Katie Jones.
This discussion will tie in with the new ‘Scratch menu’ at Spring, which reduces food waste by upcycling the surplus ingredients from the a la carte menu, which would usually have been thrown away at the end of day.
The event will be accompanied by a selection of seasonal canapes and cocktails made by Skye and her team at Spring,
