Join us on Tuesday 24th October, 2023 for our second Growers’ Dinner, this time bringing together two of the country’s most dynamic players in small scale, regenerative farming, Ben Walgate – founding winemaker at Tillingham, now beginning his new project Walgate & Co – and Harry Dyer and Sam Best from Shrub.
Spring will host a four-course dinner in celebration of the year’s main harvest at farms and vineyards across England. The menu will showcase produce sourced from some of the finest, most ethical small-scale farms around the country through the help of Shrub, a wholesale grocer bridging the gap between high quality growers and conscientious kitchens.
Each course will be expertly paired with wines from Tillingham made by Ben Walgate, a winemaker and grower at the forefront of regenerative farming and small-scale wine production in England.
Diners can expect a thoughtfully curated menu paired with four glasses of wine, all accompanied by a unique conversation between Ben, Harry, Sam, and Spring’s own Skye Gyngell and Head Sommelier, Monique Ziervogel.
In their separate endeavours as grower/winemaker and produce suppliers, Ben, Sam, and Harry share parallel approaches in their efforts to provide an antidote to large-scale farming and production. This promises to be a unique conversation that explores their common goal of improving our food and farming systems by bringing things back to basics while adopting a modern perspective.
Tickets are £120, which includes a four-course menu paired with four glasses of wine.
This will be a very intimate event with limited tickets. Both individual and group bookings may be seated at communal tables. If you wish to be seated with a specific party, please email [email protected] to specify and we will do our best to accommodate.
